Our Story
Why We Created The Bloomhouse Women’s Counseling Collective
A Practice Rooted in Lived Experience
The Bloomhouse Women’s Counseling Collective was born from both professional passion and personal experience.
As therapists and as mothers we, Hannah Dorsher and Kelly Sinning, have witnessed firsthand how deeply transformational, beautiful, and challenging womanhood and motherhood can be. We have walked through seasons of identity shifts, emotional overwhelm, physical recovery, changing relationships, and the invisible mental load that so many women quietly carry.
Like many women, we have felt the pressure to “hold it all together,” even when things felt uncertain, exhausting, or heavy inside.
And like many of the women we now serve, we learned that support makes all the difference.
Seeing the Gaps in Women’s Mental Health Care
Through years of providing therapy in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado, we began to notice a pattern.
So many women were coming to therapy feeling:
Overwhelmed by motherhood
Impacted by difficult or traumatic births
Struggling with postpartum anxiety or depression
Navigating infertility or pregnancy loss
Feeling disconnected in their relationships
Questioning their identity after becoming a mom
Carrying old attachment wounds
Living in constant self-doubt or perfectionism
Yet many had spent months or years trying to manage alone.
We saw how hard it was for women to find therapy spaces that truly understood the complexity of pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, and life transitions. Spaces that were trauma-informed, attachment-based, and deeply relational. Spaces that felt calm, supportive, and emotionally safe.
We knew women deserved more.
Creating a Space Where Women Feel Truly Supported
The Bloomhouse was created to be the kind of therapy practice we wished existed for ourselves and our clients.
A place where women could:
Feel seen without having to explain everything
Be honest about the hard parts of motherhood
Process birth trauma and reproductive loss safely
Learn to regulate anxiety and emotions
Heal attachment wounds
Rebuild confidence and self-trust
Strengthen relationships
Feel connected to a community
We envisioned a space where healing wasn’t rushed where women could move at their own pace, with skilled therapists walking alongside them.
Building a Team of Aligned Therapists
From the beginning, our vision extended beyond just the two of us.
We dreamed of building a collaborative team of therapists who shared our values:
Compassion over judgment
Depth over quick fixes
Connection over comparison
Safety over pressure
Integrity over productivity
Every therapist at The Bloomhouse is carefully selected for their clinical skill, emotional presence, and passion for women’s mental health. Our team specializes in trauma-informed therapy, attachment-based care, postpartum mental health, anxiety treatment, EMDR, and relationship-focused counseling.
Together, we create a collective where both clients and clinicians feel supported.
Beyond Therapy: Creating Community
We believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation.
That’s why The Bloomhouse is committed to expanding beyond individual counseling to offer:
Community workshops
Educational seminars
Support groups
Collaborative wellness events
Parenting and relationship classes
Women’s retreats
Interdisciplinary partnerships
Our long-term vision is to help women in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado build meaningful connection, emotional resilience, and supportive networks not just during therapy, but throughout life.
Why We Do This Work
At the heart of everything we do is this belief:
Women deserve spaces where they don’t have to be “strong” all the time. Women deserve to take up space.
They deserve care that honors their stories, their nervous systems, their relationships, and their humanity.
We created The Bloomhouse so women and mothers could have a place to land, especially during seasons when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or tender.
It is our greatest honor to walk alongside you.
